WHY USE THUMB TAPE (PACK OF THREE)

We understand the purpose of lifting on a sharp bar where the knurling is more abrasive (i.e., new bars in competitions),  it becomes imperative that thumb tape (pack three) is used to protect the skin.

It plays an important role in covering up with injuries conditions of an athlete and also performing in the field even before completing the reformation recovery from injury. Research stated that taping serves as a measure of “injury reformation and prevention” and yet there have still been others who point out different points and opinions.

Thumb Tape is mainly procured as one of the means of reformation and prevention in cases of support and protection of the skin, stability, immediate first aid, securing a pad or brace, preventing injury and restricting the angle of pull.
It extends and enhances mechanical support and position to the ankle without any negative effects on body posture and equilibrium (Mascaro &  Swanson,  1994).

Thumb tape (pack three) is allowed for use in all competitions locally and internationally as long as the very tip of the thumb is exposed so it is not utilized to extend the length of the thumb.

Taping has been found to be effective in cases of ankle, foot, hand and wrist injuries as well as appearing to be more valuable in reformation than in prevention of knee and ankle injuries. After a brief duration of motion, the stiffness exerted due to taping  gradually decreases (Wojtys &  Huston,  2001).

Thumb Tape is an ideal modality for use in manipulating settings that interplays between the body’s neurological system, muscular building system and its structural and fascial frameworks. Effective thumb tape involves all of these systems, allowing neuromusculoskeletal to quickly grasp the principles and techniques for applying thumb tape.
